Saturday September 27 was Cache Valley Ear, Nose & Throats Fall work party. Dr. Wood has his pilots license and owns a couple of airplanes and stores them in his hanger down at Logan Airport. This year he wanted to take us all up for a ride in his plane. All the kids were so excited. We ate a catered dinner from Iron Gate Grill in his Hanger and then all the kids make there own homemade bombs to throw out of the airplane. Dr. Wood had made a target on the old runway and he was going to let the kids throw their bombs out of plane to see who could get the closest to the target.
The bombs were made of dirt and the dirt was put in a grocery sack and tied with ribbon with the kids name on the tie. The kid who came the closest to the target got a day off with pay for there mother. I thought I was a shoe in.. I had three kids throwing two bombs each.
It was so much fun and the kids will always remember this. Kenzie came in second and Kason came in fifth. (Not Bad).
Thank you Dr. Wood for a night of EXTREME FUN!!!

Ben & Kace assembling their bombs.

Kace, Hayden and Stetsen waiting for their turn in the airplane.

Hayden & I were the first of our family to get to go up! I was a little sad for Hayden that he got saddled with me as a partner but, we did pretty well. Anyone who knows me is aware of my anxiety and my paranoia. This was definitely out of my comfort zone. I totally trusted Dr. Wood and his ability to fly the plane so I couldn't let this opportunity pass me by. When we came down for landing Dr. Wood landed slightly and then immediately went back in the air. The words out of Dr. Woods mouth was "oops" WHAT????
I said to him "There are a couple of things I don't want to hear while we are flying in an airplane and that would be one of them."
He was going a little to fast and needed to slow down a little before we landed. Everything was find and we landed safely.

The day Kason found out that we were going to fly in Dr. Woods plane was the last day of peace for me. For 1 week straight all I heard was "When do we get to go fly in the plane?" I was so glad when Saturday night finally came. Kason was a bit nervous but, Ben said that he did GREAT while they were in the air. However he did not want to throw his bombs, he was afraid to put his arm outside the window. (I can't really blame him for that!!)

Now it was Kenzie's turn. I was surprised that she wanted her Dad to go with her. Ben said that she did find while they were in the air but, the moment they touched down and the door opened and Kenzie set her eyes on me the water work began. "I was so scared!" that is all she could say. This was the first unhappy customer!

Pictures

Kenzie & I were bored one day and I decided to dress her all up & take some picture. I didn't think they would turn out this good, I love my camera and all its neat features. I didn't get a chance to take to many of Kason but, I did manage to take a few of him & Kenzie at home. Enjoy!!

Dentist Check-up

Kenzie had her follow up with Dr. Larsen, her dentist yesterday. I noticed a few weeks ago that Kenzies two front teeth were going slightly grey. I called in and gave the report to Dr. Larsen. He wanted to do some x-rays on the front teeth to check the nerves.
Kenzie may be able to keep her front teeth for another year at the most. Dr. Larsen said there is no current infection and it does not look like there is damage to her perement teeth, although the initial fall may have done damage.
He wants to take another x-ray in four months and check the teeth again, meanwhile they will continue to get darker.
I am not a vein mother but, I was a bit upset that Kenzie would have grey front teeth for maybe another year or so. I asked Dr.Larsen if we could whiten her teeth at the next check-up. He did not seemed bothered by this question and very kindly said "Of Course" apparently I am not the only vein mother he sees.
When he finally has to pull the teeth, Kenzie will have missing front teeth for several years. She may not get her perement teeth until she is five or six. If she is anything like Kason it may be longer. Kason has only lost 2 teeth and they are his bottom two and they had to be pulled.
So if you guys see us around and notice Kenzie darking teeth, I really do take care of my kids. They brush twice a day :)
This picture is not the Greatest but, it show a litle the darking of her teeth.

Where to go, Where to go? Left or Right or straight ahead. We don't KNOW!

It's officially FALL. The Corn Mace is OPEN!! Saturday night we took the kids along with my Mom & Dad and Hayden to Corn Maze. We cheated a little however because we went when it was still light....and we used the map. The kids loved it. Kason and Hayden would go way ahead of us and try to get lost but, we always found them.
It was great exercise for me and it sure wore the kids out.

Here is Kenzie & I sifting through the corn. Man don't we look lost?

It seemed to much for Kenzie to cross the finsh line on her own two feet. She told Ben that she needed to be held because she had a Headache. Oh my she is starting young.

And we ALL made it out in record time. 45 minutes.
Left to right.. Ben, Mom & Dad
Bottom left to right... Kenzie, Kason & Hayden

Outside the maze there is a small straw maze that the kids can try out. This was nothing for Kason & Hayden once they had conquered the corn maze.

We WON the SNOWMOBILE

We won the snowmobile at the fundraiser on Saturday night. I could not belive it, we NEVER win anything. Our luck was on the rise because we won both the blanket and the snowmobile.
I would have thought it was rigged but, little Easten was the one who pulled the winning raffle tickets. He must be our little lucky charm.
This is so great because now Ben has someone to go snowmobiling with. I can't wait until Kason can try it out on the snow.
Thanks again for everyone who made the fundraiser a sucess!!!!

We have conquered the Impossible

OH YES!! This is a picture of my daughter using the big girl potty!! YEAH!
Okay the story is... One day last week I got Kenzie out of the bathtub and put a diaper on her. I asked her to go get her pajamas on. I watched her walk into her room and to her dresser, suddenly she made an unusual face and I watched as she quickly removed her diaper and pee on my carpet. It was then at that moment I realized she knew that she needed to pee and did not want to do it in her diaper.
I was determined to get this girl potty trained. Thursay I went to Wal-Mart and purchased a potty and some new panties for her. I called her on the phone to tell her of my new purchase and I was hung up on. This was going to be harder than I thought.
Still determined When I got home Thursday night I put my plan into works. I put the panties on her and had her watch as I threw away all her diapers. Thursday was hard but, we got through it.
Friday came and there were several accidents. I was ready to buy another bag of diapers after I cleaned her car seat out... for the second time.
I travel with the potty in the back of my car so if we are somewhere and she needs to pee or do the other I don't have to have her use the public potties. (I have huge phobies of public bathrooms.)
Then on Saturday it happened it clicked she realized she can hold her pee to make it to the bathroom and she realized she does not want to walk around in wet panties and pants. Saturday was a huge sucess and there were no accidents.
Today was even better. She lets me know when its time to pee and she even poops in the potty. I am so glad I didn't give up! I think she was really ready this time.
Yeah for me. No more kids in diapers.

Labor Day Camping Trip

YES!! I went camping. Those of you who know me really well, know that I HATE, HATE camping. This is not a new thing I have hated camping since I was young. The bugs, the camp fire, the smell of camp fire on EVERYTHING you own for DAYS and not to mention the squatting. What is fun about this? Kenzie I think may have the same feeling about camping as I do.
We went to Bear Lake and met Bens cousins from Sandy there. It was fun to see them and there kids. We usually only get to see them once a year at Christmas time. We planned this for weeks and I was willing to go only because Ben quilted me into it. Ben said that Kason needed to experience camping being a boy and all. So I put my feeling of camping aside and decided to go.
We slept in the back of our Expediton because there was no way I was pitching a tent. It was really warm and I didn't even hear the wind blowing or the rain.

This is Kenzies idea of camping. Sitting in her princess chair and YES eating Raspberries.

Okay Kenzie has had enough. I felt like she looks right here.

Kason was in heaven. We took his four wheelers and Kason and Dakota rode the heck out of them. Kason thought camping was the greatest. Too bad mom and Kenzie felt differently.

All of the litlle girls. I was so happy that there were girls for Kenzie to play with. By the time we were ready to leave I think all the girls were glad to see Kenzie leaving. Left to Right Paige, Kenzie, Bree and Ashley.

These are the women of the camping trip. I do have to say that the women didn't really have to do much while we were camping. The men cooked and cleaned up and played and entertained the children. Left to right Jen, myself and Kim

These are Bens Twin cousins. Starting left to right.. Bruce,Ben and Brian.
